This Is Sin

All sin against God almighty has one thing in common. It must be repented of. It must be purged from our hearts, words, and actions. It must be gotten rid of from our lives. It must be forgiven by God. It must be replaced with right thinking, right speaking, and right actions. It must be replaced with living in a manner such that we bring God love, honor, reverence, praise, pleasure, joy, and glory. There is a sin that is common to all of humanity, I believe, in one way or another, to one degree or another. A sin I believe we all must continually watch out for, strive not to fall into, and swiftly repent should the Lord show us we have in fact fallen into it. This is the sin of pride.
If you are thinking, feeling, speaking, or acting in a way whereby you make yourself out to be better, higher, wiser, greater, etc. than anyone else or worst of all than God Himself, you must repent of pride and humble yourself before God and others.
When we do raise ourselves up, when we exalt ourselves, when we lift ourselves up above others and/or God almighty, God will bring us down. Conversely, if we humble ourselves, He will lift us up.
Please examine your heart, words, and actions. God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves. There is no room for pride in this. It is in our humility that we are best able to love the Lord and others.
Please be careful. Pride can be so very subtle. It can be hidden. We can not even recognize it if we are not so very careful to watch out for it.
Oh, friend, let us not lift ourselves up. Let us lower ourselves instead. Let us choose humility. Let us clothe ourselves in it as the Bible says. Let us not be proud people God resists, but instead humble people who receive God’s grace.
Some preach foolishly of going higher to new levels. I do not desire to go higher to a new level. I yearn to go lower to the place and position I can best please the Lord.
Let us come downward and bow down before God almighty. Even when we are not bent down on our knees or fallen on our knees lying prostrate before Him, two positions the Lord most assuredly desires per the Bible, let us in our hearts come down and be people humble before the Lord. Will you join me in this?
I smile even imagining it. Turning away from the world’s wicked way of self-exaltation. Instead turning to the Lord with humble blessed wonderful adoration.
Lifting up the one who is worthy of all exaltation all the time. Loving Him with every ounce of our HUMBLE HEARTS. Exalting almighty God, amen! Glory be to the Lord – forevermore, AMEN! Hallelujah!
God, this so blessed me to write. Such a powerful reminder you poured through me in this message of the way you call us to live dear God. Please God let this not be a message that “goes in one ear and comes out the other”. Please let it not come before our eyes and quickly disappear. Oh, God, remind us continually to humble ourselves that we might walk in your ways. Love and humility are so essential to following you, dear Father, and I beg of you, yes beg, that you would all around the world provoke your followers to living humble lives. Help us to humbly love and serve you forevermore, AMEN!
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17 KJV
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” James 4:6 KJV
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:10 KJV
“Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5 KJV
“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” Matthew 23:12 KJV by Lara Love
